Breakthrough Momentum
“But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit” Jude 1:20
Momentum is a moving force that overcomes resistance. It is the strength or force that allows something to continue or to grow stronger or faster as time passes, the force that carries an object to its final destination.
To experience a breakthrough, you need to have and maintain a certain level of momentum, just as, for a rocket to blast into space, it needs tremendous momentum to break the gravitational barrier.
A lot of times, our challenge is gaining and maintaining the spiritual momentum to breakthrough. It requires real power. Believers who are serious in their faith-walk are people who stand steadfastly against difficult obstacles, and who pray with great fervency and spend time in the word, not just for a short spur of time but in a consistent manner, maintaining the momentum. This produces spiritual power for significant breakthroughs in the spirit realm.
Sin and self-indulgence will compromise and slow the spiritual momentum required for our breakthrough. But if we set our focus on Jesus the author and finisher of our faith, we will be inspired to forsake our sins and focus on being all that He saved us for.
And then we need to build up our strength by communing with the Holy Spirit. He is our helper, ever ready to charge us up as we pray not just in understanding but by the Spirit.
The harder the obstacles on our path, the more momentum we need to build and sustain to be able to breakthrough.
This is a call for you to regain momentum in your spiritual life through repentance toward God, and steadfast perseverance in studying the Word and prayer. Your breakthrough is here.
