Fact To Hold
“For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve.” – 1 Corinthians 15:3-5
Hillary Morgan Ferrer is the founder of Mama Bear Apologetics. She has a burden for providing accessible apologetics resources for busy moms. She has a master’s in biology and her specialities are scientific apologetics, dealing with doubt, and identifying causes and solutions for youth leaving the church.
In her book, Hillary said the following: “I want my churched-up, prayed-up, pre-school kid to be a sceptic too! Why? Because being a sceptic means that he will question what is presented to him. This is important because I will not always be the one presenting the ideas. A child who understands how to discover the truth is primed for a faith that lasts much longer than that of a child who is merely presented with the truth.”
Our faith is founded and grounded on the fact that Jesus Christ rose from the grave. It is a historical fact. Praise the Lord for His Resurrection that is the fact that grounds our faith.
The Gospels do not explain the Resurrection; the Resurrection explains the Gospels.
“He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.'” Then they remembered his words.” – Luke 24:6-8
