Our Solace
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” Psalm 147:3
Many of us at one time or the other have had situations that wounded us deeply. Sometimes these painful incidents may be resolved quickly while other times they linger for years.
According to Proverbs 27:6, wounds from a sincere friend are better than many kisses from an enemy. This refers to correction out of love and concern. While these can be painful they often open an issue so that it can be resolved. Like a broken bone, when it heals, the point of the break is stronger than the original bone. Friends become stronger from these moments. Be thankful for that friend who takes the time to open that difficult conversation.
The place of prayer is the – one place we can take our heart’s wounds and know they will be treated. Jesus is that friend that sticks closer than a brother. Talking to him always helps. Even if we are not healed immediately, yet we will have had our concerns heard. Jesus knows our hearts, He knows how we feel when we are hurt in this way. He lived and walked in our shoes, He understands us and cares for us so much.
So “Take it to the Lord in prayer for in His arms He will take and shield thee, and you will find a solace there.
