Yielded To God
“And she made this vow: “O Lord of Heaven’s Armies, if you will look upon my sorrow and answer my prayer and give me a son, then I will give him back to you. He will be yours for his entire lifetime, and as a sign that he has been dedicated to the Lord, his hair will never be cut.” 1 Samuel 1:11
Sometimes God uses our “afflictions, circumstances, contradictions and delays” to draw us into a deeper level of consecration with Him.
The story of Hannah is interesting, in that the scriptures say that the Lord “shut up” her womb. She desperately wanted a child, but the Lord wanted HER.
Many times we are fixated on the things we don’t have and the things we want, but the Lord wants much more. He doesn’t just want to bless us, no He wants all of us.
Blessing us is no big deal for Him, but He insists on having all of us. Hannah’s miracle did not come until she reached a point of release, totally giving back to the Lord what mattered to her the most, her miracle son.
Hannah ended up making a vow, a deep sign of personal consecration to the Lord. At that point, she was broken, yielded, surrendered, and dedicated to the Lord, and then the miracle came.
There is nothing the Lord cannot do, no miracle He cannot send your way, but many times He wants us totally surrendered, dedicated, and yielded to Him.
His relationship with us matters more to Him than anything we can ever need from Him.
So let us receive grace to yield to him. The more yielded and dedicated we are, the more likely that He will intervene in our affairs in power, miracles, signs, and wonders!
