Worship Him Only
“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.” 1 Chronicles 16:34
We were all created to worship and we all worship someone or something whether we know it or not.
Worship is whatever we put first. Some worship celebrities, friends, careers, relationships etc. It is what we think about most, who we spend the most time with, and what we follow. All of these are a part of our worship.
There is only One worthy of our worship. The God who created the universe, the One that formed us in our mother’s womb, the Alpha and Omega. He is the One who deserves our praise. He deserves our praise because of who He is and all that He has done. He is a good God who loves us and made a way for us to be with Him forever. He paid the ultimate sacrifice and made a way for us to have life. We did nothing to earn it and we can not deserve it. He did it all out of His loving goodness. His love never ends and He is always good.
Worship is a lifestyle. What is the first thing that you do in the morning? Do you grab your phone and check social media, the news, or texts? None of those is inherently bad, but what if we started our day thinking about and talking to Him instead? It does not necessarily have to be an hour-long appointment each morning. You can start by just thanking Him for the new day He has given you.
Spend time in the word every day; it does not have to be early in the morning, it can be anytime. As long as we get in the word daily.
Talk to God about your day. Invite Him into your day.
Sing of His goodness throughout the day. Worshipping is not just about singing, but it is a beautiful aspect of it. We are all called to sing to the Lord. Don’t worry about how it sounds; just pour out your heart.
