God’s Will For You
“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Today’s verses show us three specific things that are God’s will for us.
Rejoice always: when our lives are not going the way we wanted or planned, we can still rejoice. Not because things may be falling apart, but because we have life in Him. Our strength and joy must be in Him, not in what we are experiencing.
Pray continually: prayer is something we can do all day, every day. Not just when we need something. Prayer is simply communication with God. Yes, bring your petitions to Him, but you can also talk to Him as a friend. He wants to hear from you throughout the day.
Give thanks in everything: we don’t have to thank Him for our challenging circumstances. Instead, we thank Him that He is with us in the middle of them. We can thank Him for all He has done and for all, He will do. We have breath in our lungs and get to spend eternity with Him. We can always thank Him for that!
God’s will for you is in Christ Jesus! In Him is where you will find life and joy. To live in Him, choose to rejoice in Him, pray to Him, and thank Him. He is for you, and He is not against you, in your weakness and in the challenging times. Rely on Him and be with Him through it all.
