On Eagles Wings
“…those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31
God wants us to have hope.
True hope comes from God, and when we live with hope in Him, we will live differently.
We all need more hope because hope is hard in the middle of chaos, but we can always find it when our eyes are on God.
Without hope, we lose strength and the will to keep going. Without hope, we grow weary and want to give up because we don’t see a point. We lose hope when our hope is in anything but God. Hope in God is the only hope that will not disappoint.
When we hope in Him, our strength will be renewed, we will soar, we will run without getting tired, and we will walk without fainting. To have our strength renewed means it is made new, and it is revived. The imagery of soaring like eagles is powerful. Eagles don’t have to constantly flap their wings to stay up in the air like other birds. Eagles can use their wings to soar. Eagles also intentionally wait for wind and seek out storms because the wind helps carry them, and they will be carried above the storm. Soaring in peace. To run without getting tired and to walk with our fainting means that we can have endurance and press on no matter what.
The key to a life like this is hoping and trusting in God.
Where is your hope?
Spend time with God and ask Him to help you hope and trust in Him. Even in the middle of the storm. Intentionally focus on Him and keep your eyes on Him. Let Him be your strength and joy. There is no better way to live than with Him. Trust and hope in the One who loves you and knows you best.
