Thankful, Not Anxious
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
Thanksgiving is powerful and can remove anxiety.
Anxiety is fear of the future and not believing that God will take care of us. When we bring every situation to Him and pray, petition, thank, and present our requests, anxiety will disappear.
Remember, anxiety comes from fear!
In 1 John 4:18, it says that there is no fear in love. So when we are experiencing fear and anxiety, we need a perspective change. When God’s love touches every part of our fear and anxiety, it dispels it.
When we live in such a way, we will have a peace that we can only receive from God. This is how God wants us to live. We don’t have to live in fear any longer.
To live without anxiety, we need to:
1. Spend time with God and His word every day.
2. Ask for a greater revelation of who He is.
3. Bring every situation to God in prayer and petition.
4. Thank God for who He is in the middle of every circumstance.
5. Present your requests to God.
6. Walk in the peace you receive from Him.
