Gratitude In Your Heart
“Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.” Colossians 3:16
Gratitude is a heart posture of thanksgiving. Colossians 3:16 says that we are to let God’s word and message dwell among us as we teach and encourage one another. We are to also sing to God with gratitude in our hearts.
This scripture tells us that all of us are called to sing to the Lord! That does not mean we will all have a microphone, but we all have the same calling to sing to Him. We sing to Him not because we have perfect pitch or beautiful voices. We sing to Him because our hearts are full of gratitude to Him, and singing should be a natural response.
We also sing to Him because He tells us to. Singing to the Lord is an act of worship and obedience.
Do you sing to the Lord regularly?
Now you know that we are all called to sing to Him.
The more we learn about His character and love for us, the more natural singing with gratitude in our hearts will become.
God is not looking for a polished song from the perfect voice. He is looking for those who have hearts full of gratitude for Him and sing out to Him the song that only they can sing to Him. No one else has the song in your heart; no one else has your voice.
Decide not to care what it sounds like and pour out your heart in thanksgiving to God.
An easy way to do this is to write out what you are thankful for. Then, sing out what you wrote! He will love it, and it will bring joy to His heart.
