Give Thanks Ahead
“In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18.
We should never get so hungry for more increase, growth, prosperity, healing, and all the goodness of God that we become ungrateful or unthankful.
The Bible instructs us to package all petitions, supplications, requests, and prayers with gratefulness and thanksgiving.
This means that the only acceptable way to pray is to do so thankfully in full assurance that our heavenly father is listening.
God deserves our heart of worship and thanksgiving.
Praise precedes and heralds our breakthrough!
If you can’t praise while in prison, you may be too ‘dignified’ to dance when you are free.
The Israelites walked around with their horns and trumpets for seven days, then the great wall of Jericho came crashing down at their praise chant on the seventh day. Joshua 6.
Jesus always gave thanks over the little provision available before the multiplication happened. Luke 9:16, Matthew 14:19.
God has done all that needs to be done, that’s why Jesus said, ‘It is finished’. What remains is the process of appropriating our inheritance.
God is surely bringing you into the broad place of overflow and full restoration, however, don’t wait until you have the testimony before letting your thanks flow.
True gratitude comes from trust, not performance.
