Warring By Worship
“As soon as they started praising, God set ambushes against the men of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir as they were attacking Judah, and they all ended up dead.” 2 Chronicles 20: 22
Warring is not convenient. It is a tough challenge mixed with lots of uncertainty and threat of annihilation but with an opportunity for relief and celebration if it turns out favorable.
With this definition in mind, you will see that we are all in a war of a kind, whether for our career, health, finance, ministry, relationships, community, or nation.
Life truly is fraught with battles but in Christ victory is assured.
How then are we to fight these battles and obtain the much-promised victory in Christ?
One sure weapon that is critical to our winning this war is a heart of worship.
Psalm 22:3 says; But You are holy, Enthroned in the praises of Israel (God’s people).
Thanksgiving, and praise is an open invitation that God does not resist. It brings down His presence into any place, life or situation.
The moment you fix your heart on God and reconfigure your mind to see that God is mighty and to be praised, you bring Him into the situation. And invariably everything will fall into place.
In 2 Chronicles 20:22, you will notice that as soon as they began to praise God, events began to unfold. The situation began to realign. God moved in with all his majesty, glory, and power. Praise is indeed a weapon of warfare!
What ought you to do then? You must put your challenges in the right perspective. Remind yourself (always) of just how awesome God, our Father is.
Psalm 8:1 Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory in the heavens.
The devil will want to make you feel despondent, unhappy, melancholic, arrogant, or proud depending on the winds. Circumstances and the world system will pressure you to focus on what you are missing.
But switch on your worship and praise, and make it a daily, regular, lifestyle habit. Giving thanks and praising God is a potent weapon that will outwit the devil and lift you. Then your opportunity of deliverance, relief, celebration, and victory in the war is guaranteed.
