God Looks At The Heart
“But the Lord said to Samuel, ‘Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.’” – 1 Samuel 16:7
Joseph M. Stowell III was born February 7, 1944 and retired as the president of Cornerstone University in May 2021.
He is the author of over 20 Christian books.
In his book “Fan the Flame”, Stowell writes: “The heart is used in Scripture as the most comprehensive term for the authentic person.
It is the part of our being where we desire, deliberate, and decide. It has been described as “the place of conscious and decisive spiritual activity,” “the comprehensive term for a person as a whole; his feelings, desires, passions, thought, understanding and will,” and “the center of a person. The place to which God turns.”
The Lord continually is looking for men and women, boys and girls that have a heart for Him.
Yield your heart to Jesus and fully serve Him.
“Let your heart soar as high as it will. Refuse to be average.” – A.W. Tozer
“then hear from heaven, your dwelling place. Forgive and act; deal with each man according to all he does, since you know his heart (for you alone know the hearts of all men)” – 1 Kings 8:39
