God’s Love
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” John 3:16-17
God’s love is unlike any other love. We will never fully understand or comprehend it.
There is actually no other love for us to truly compare it to.
Through other people, we can see facets of His love, but God is the definition of love, so we can not fully find such a love in one another.
John 3:16 -17 is a verse you can probably quote. It is a powerful verse that reveals what love looks like. So often, we can become so familiar with this verse that we allow it to lose its real meaning in our hearts. Of course, it never loses meaning, but we can almost become numb to it because we have heard it for so long and hear it so often.
Take some time to meditate on John 3:16-17. The God of the universe has an unmatched love for us. The Father gave the Son so we could be saved when we believe in Him. Jesus was the only One who could pay the price and reconcile us to God. Jesus died for the world; He died for those who will love Him back, but He also hung on the cross for those who rejected Him. His heart is that none shall perish, and even though He knew some would reject His love and mock His name, He still wanted to pay the price so they could be with Him if they wanted to. Jesus came into this world to die, all because He wanted to save us. God’s love for us is truly amazing.
