The Lord Is With You
“Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” Psalm 73:25–26
In the story of Joseph, we see a powerful testament to God’s unwavering presence during times of hardship.
Joseph, sold into slavery by his brothers, found himself in Egypt serving in Potiphar’s house. Despite the betrayal and the challenges he faced, the Bible tells us:
“The Lord was with Joseph so that he prospered, and he lived in the house of his Egyptian master.” Genesis 39:2
Even when falsely accused and imprisoned, Joseph’s circumstances did not deter God’s presence:
“But while Joseph was there in the prison, the Lord was with him; he showed him kindness and granted him favor in the eyes of the prison warden.” Genesis 39:20–21.
Joseph’s journey reminds us that God’s presence is not limited by our situations. Whether in a palace or a prison, God’s companionship remains constant.
This assurance is echoed in Revelation:
“Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.” Revelation 21:3.
And the promise continues:
“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:4.
No matter the trials we face, we can find solace in the truth that God is with us, guiding us through every valley and leading us toward His promises.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for Your constant presence in our lives. Help us to trust in Your plan, even when the path is unclear. May we find comfort in knowing that You are with us in every circumstance. Amen.
