All Power Belongs To God

“Jesus answered, ‘You would have no power over me if it were not given to you from above.’” John 19:11

At the height of His trial, standing before Pilate with His life in the balance, Jesus made a profound declaration: “You have no power over me unless it were given from above.” This was not defiance. It was truth. It reminds us that God is sovereign, even over rulers, crises, and outcomes.

We live in a world that appears dominated by political strength, financial control, or sheer human will. Yet Scripture pulls back the curtain: every ounce of authority flows from God. Earthly power may appear to win in moments, but it is always temporary, borrowed, and limited.

When faced with disappointment, opposition, or danger, remember: you are never at the mercy of people, systems, or chance. God holds the final word. The power behind your healing, breakthrough, calling, and peace is not man-made, it is heaven-sent.

Lord, I acknowledge that all power belongs to You. No person, situation, or authority has control over me unless You permit it. Help me trust in Your sovereignty and walk boldly in Your power. Amen.
