He Lights My Darkness
“You, Lord, are my lamp; the Lord turns my darkness into light…” 2 Samuel 22:29.
These words were spoken by David, a man after God’s own heart, in a song of thanksgiving, after being delivered from his enemies and the hand of Saul, David pours out his heart in worship.
But his praise is not just for the present victory, it is for the God who constantly leads him in victory. The God who lights his path.
We have all walked through seasons where darkness clouds our way, confusion, grief, fear, or delay. But David reminds us: “You, Lord, are my lamp.”
Not only does God bring light to the situation, He is the light. His presence dispels confusion and leads us gently when we cannot see.
He is a shield, a rock and the source of our strength. When the weight is heavy and our resources are low, it is God who arms us to keep moving. His word is flawless, not failing or uncertain, it is sure.
Lord, thank You for being my light in darkness. You are my safe place, my strength, and my shield. Help me to walk in the confidence of Your presence, even when I cannot see the way. Amen.
