Mercy That Never Fails
“It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22–23.
When everything around us feels uncertain, broken, or undeserved, there is one constant we can cling to: the mercy of God.
Mercy is God’s tender compassion toward us, not giving us the judgment we deserve, but instead offering forgiveness, kindness, and grace.
Jeremiah wrote Lamentations in the midst of pain and national ruin, yet in the depths of despair, he declared this stunning truth:
“It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed.”
His mercies are new every morning, not recycled, not rationed, but fresh and overflowing.
Every sunrise is a reminder that no matter what happened yesterday, God’s heart toward you is still full of mercy today.
*Mercy says:*
– You are forgiven, even when you fall.
– You are loved, even when you feel unworthy.
– You are not abandoned, even when you’re in the wilderness.
Let this sink in:
God doesn’t grow tired of showing mercy. He delights in it. Micah 7:18. He pursues you with it. Psalm 23:6. And He wraps you in it, again and again, because His mercy flows from who He is, not what you’ve done.
Father, thank You for Your mercy, constant, undeserved, and life-giving. Teach me to rest in it, walk in it, and show it to others. Let every morning remind me that You are faithful, and Your compassion never fails. In Jesus name, Amen
