The God Who Sees Me
“You are the God who sees me.” Genesis 16:13
In the wilderness, alone and abandoned, Hagar felt discarded and tossed aside by circumstances. But God saw her. He didn’t just notice her pain; He met her in it.
When Hagar encountered the Lord in the desert, she gave Him a name: El Roi: “The God who sees me.” It was a declaration that in her lowest moment, she wasn’t overlooked. She was known, seen, and valued by the Most High.
Our God still sees.
He sees when the weight is heavy.
He sees the tears that no one else notices.
He sees the faithfulness you offer in secret.
He sees the fight to keep going.
You are never hidden from Him. Even when no one claps, no one responds, or no one understands, God does. And in His presence, being seen is not about being exposed, it’s about being embraced.
Let this comfort you:
– You don’t have to fight to be seen. You already are.
– You don’t have to be loud to be heard. He is listening.
– You don’t have to be perfect to be loved. You are already His.
Lord, thank You for being the God who sees me, even when I feel unseen. Help me live knowing that I am fully known, deeply loved, and never alone. Amen.
