The Quiet Place
“But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.” Luke 5:16
Our world is full of constant noise, endless notifications, and the pressure to always be “on,” whereas our soul quietly hungers for stillness. Even Jesus, the Son of God, full of power and purpose, took time to step away. He often withdrew because He was wise.
The quiet place is a necessity.
It is where distractions fade and God’s voice becomes clear. Where burdens are laid down and peace is picked up. It is where connection is secured. It is intentional time away from the noise so you can be with the One who restores your soul.
In the quiet, God corrects us and reassures us. He reminds us of who we are, and whose we are.
And you don’t need a mountain or a monastery. Just your willing heart and some undisturbed moments. The quiet place could be in your car, or your morning walk, or a few minutes before bed. But guard it. Treasure it. Return to it often.
Because in the stillness, God speaks.
Lord, teach me to value the quiet place so I can encounter Your presence. Amen.
