Time Is The Proof Of Love
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” Matthew 22:37.
Love is not just spoken, it is proven. And one of the clearest ways love is proven is through time. You can give without loving, but you cannot love without giving your time.
In relationships, we know this instinctively: we value those who make time for us. No one believes in love that never calls, never shows up, or never listens. So why do we sometimes say we love God, yet never make space in our day for Him?
Many people are busy working for God, serving, organizing, doing good things, yet never actually ‘being’ with Him. But Jesus didn’t die for our performance; He died for relationship. Love without intimacy is hollow, it is mere lip service. Without the investment of time, the claim to love is deceptive.
The most valuable gift you can give God is not your talent, your money, or even your service, it’s your time. Because time is life. When you give God your time, you give Him your life. That’s the deepest expression of love.
Spending time in the Word, in prayer, in quiet moments of reflection, or even walking and talking with God, these are acts of real devotion. They’re not about religion, but relationship. You can’t claim to love someone you never spend time with.
Ask yourself today:
– If someone observed my schedule, would they conclude I love God?
– Am I making room daily for the One I claim to love most?
Lord, help me to love You not just in words but with my time. Teach me to seek You, spend time with You, and enjoy Your presence. May my schedule reflect my devotion. Amen.
