All things serve Him
“The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord; He directs it like a watercourse wherever He pleases.” Proverbs 21:1
Our God is unlimited. He is not caged by circumstances, systems, or even people’s intentions. His purposes on earth are sovereign, and He often chooses to work through people, both willing and unsuspecting, to accomplish His divine will.
When Pharaoh ordered the killing of all Hebrew baby boys, it seemed like the end of hope. But in that very system of oppression, God raised a helper: Pharaoh’s own daughter. She found Moses in the basket, drawn to him with compassion, and took him in, raising the deliverer of Israel under the roof of the oppressor!
Who but God could write such a story?
Throughout Scripture, God uses people, some righteous, some unaware, and even some opposed, to fulfill His plans:
Joseph was sold into slavery, yet God used Potiphar, a prison warden, and ultimately Pharaoh to position him for destiny.
Cyrus, a Persian king, was used by God to release Israel from exile. Isaiah 45:1–4, though he didn’t even know God.
Ruth found favor with Boaz, becoming a key part of the lineage of Christ, a Moabite woman grafted into divine legacy.
God still works this way today. He can use strangers, unbelievers, superiors, or even enemies to bless you and advance His purpose in your life.
Help may come from unexpected hands, and doors may open from unlikely places. Never underestimate who God can use. Trust Him.
Lord, help me to trust you and your plans for me. Open my eyes to the help You’ve placed around me, and help me also be a vessel for Your purpose. Amen.
