But For His Mercy!
“Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22–23.
God’s mercy is power in motion!
It is the force that preserves, protects, restores, and fights for His own.
God’s Mercy is divine strategy. It’s how God defends the helpless and lifts the broken.
Consider the story of Esther and Mordecai. In Esther 6–7, Haman plotted to destroy the Jews and hang Mordecai. But God, in His mercy, reversed the plot. A sleepless night led the king to honor Mordecai instead of hanging him.
Mercy overturned judgment. The same gallows Haman built became his own end. That’s what divine mercy does, it preserves the righteous and executes justice on their behalf.
Mercy fought for the Israelites at the Red Sea (Exodus 14), restored Job after his trials (Job 42:10), and raised the widow’s son through Elijah (1 Kings 17).
In every case, mercy was not passive, it moved, it spoke, it acted.
God’s mercy is fighting for you.
– It protects you from unseen harm.
– It judges what seeks to destroy you.
– It restores what was stolen from you.
Where man seeks revenge, God brings justice through mercy. Where life has dealt blows, God’s mercy rebuilds. Hallelujah.
Lord, thank You for Your mercy that never fails me. Thank You for your mercy that silence every voice raised against me. Thank You that in Your mercy, I am preserved, lifted, and made whole. Amen.
