Rest In God’s Love
“I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.” Jeremiah 31:3
There’s no rest like the rest that comes from knowing you are deeply, completely, and eternally loved. Not conditionally. Not temporarily. But with an everlasting love.
We live in a world where love often depends on performance. Where people withdraw when we fail or falter.
But God’s love is nothing like that. His love chose you before you chose Him.
His love remains when you fall. His love pursues even when you run.
Consider the apostle John. He is referred to, not by title or achievement, but as “the disciple whom Jesus loved” (John 13:23). ‘John the beloved’, what a beautiful identity. It is the confident rest he had in the love of Jesus. While others boasted of their devotion, John quietly leaned on Jesus at the table. When others scattered in fear, John stayed at the foot of the cross (John 19:26).
He wasn’t perfect, but he knew he was loved, and that was enough.
Resting in God’s love doesn’t mean you’ll never face trouble. It means that even in the storm, underneath you are His everlasting arms.
Even in your questions, you are known and kept. Even in your weakness, you are wanted, for God’s love is unfailing in your failure. It is constant in your chaos and present in your pain.
You don’t have to strive for His love, you only need to receive it. And when you do, peace floods your soul, fear loses its grip, and rest becomes your portion.
Father, thank You for loving me without condition. I choose to rest in the truth of Your unfailing love and live each day confident that nothing can separate me from You. Amen.
