Fact Check: Jesus Is Alive!
“For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Jesus hrist died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve.” 1 Corinthians 15:3-5
Tom Anderson is the former president of the California Trial Lawyers Association. He was recognized as one of the top 10 trial lawyers in America. He spent four months studying the Bible “to find a loophole, any loophole, in the truths of Christ. Finding none frightened me.” He said.
Tom then became a Christian and a defender of the reliability of the Bible.
He stated: “Let’s assume that Christ did not rise from the dead. Let’s assume that the written accounts of His appearances to hundreds of people are false. I want to pose a question. With an event so well publicized, don’t you think that it’s reasonable that one historian, one eyewitness, one antagonist would record for all time that he had seen Christ’s body: `Listen, I saw that tomb – it was not empty! Look, I was there, Christ did not rise from the dead. As a matter of fact, I saw Christ’s body.’ The silence of history is deafening when it comes to testimony against the resurrection.”
Our faith is founded and grounded on the fact that Jesus Christ rose from the grave. It is a historical fact. Praise the Lord for His Resurrection and that it is the fact that grounds our faith. The Gospels do not explain the Resurrection; the Resurrection explains the Gosples.
“He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.'” Then they remembered his words.” – Luke 24:6-8
