It’s All About Jesus
“The words of the Teacher, son of David, king in Jerusalem: ‘Meaningless! Meaningless!’ says the Teacher. ‘Utterly meaningless! Everything is meaningless.'” – Ecclesiastes 1:1-2
Leo Tolstoy was born into an aristocratic Russian family in 1828 and he became an author. Tolstoy is best known for the novels “War and Peace” and “Anna Karenina”.
He was a Christian who wrestled with the big questions of life.
In his book “A Confession”, Tolstoy wrote: “My question—that which at the age of fifty brought me to the verge of suicide—was the simplest of questions, lying in the soul of every man…a question without an answer to which one cannot live. It was: “What will come of what I am doing today or tomorrow? What will come of my whole life? Why should I live, why wish for anything, or do anything?” It can also be expressed thus: Is there any meaning in my life that the inevitable death awaiting me does not destroy?”
Loving Jesus Christ brings meaning and purpose to life.
Remember those people who you know who do not yet know Jesus. Pray that they may have a personal relationship with Him and thereby have eternal life.
“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.” Colossians 3:23-24
