Be Patient
“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.” – Ephesians 4:2
In his book “Knowing God”, J.I. Packer writes about the Six Common Pitfalls of Christians. At number six, he writes about our unwillingness to wait.
He wrote: “‘Wait on the Lord’ is a constant refrain in the Psalms, and it is a necessary word, for God often keeps us waiting. He is not in such a hurry as we are, and it is not his way to give more light on the future than we need for action in the present, or to guide us more than one step at a time.
When in doubt, do nothing, but continue to wait on God. When action is needed, light will come.”
Be in the moment and be patient.
Praise the Lord for His patience towards you and seek to be humble and patient in all that you do.
“True patience grows with the growth of love. – Gregory the Great
“Be patient, then, brothers, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop and how patient he is for the autumn and spring rains. You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near.” – James 5:7-8
