Be Thankful
“Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name.” Psalm 100:4
This Scripture tells us exactly how to come boldly into God’s presence. We are to come to Him with thanksgiving. Thanking Him draws us closer to our Father and helps us put our attention and focus on Him. We remind ourselves of all that God has done for us and how good He is to us.
We can always find a reason to be thankful. God sent His One and only Son to this earth to dwell and live among us. The very people He created. He emptied Himself and lived a perfect life, dependent on the Holy Spirit.
He was beaten, mocked, spit on, and nailed to a cross for us. While He was hanging on the cross, bloody and unrecognizable because of the beatings, we were the joy set before Him.
How can we not come to Him with thanksgiving after all He has done? Jesus paid the price for our sin and made a way for us to be with Him forever.
Thank You for Your love Jesus.
Thank You for Your sacrifice.
Thank You for making a way for me.
Thank You for inviting me into Your presence.
Thank You for paying the price for my sin.
Thank You for every lash You took for my healing.
Thank You for never leaving me.
The best way to start our day is by thanking God.
The best way to start worshiping is by thanking God.
The best way to end the day is by thanking God.
What are you thankful for today?
Speak out the things you are thankful for. Enter His gates with thanksgiving, and then celebrate His goodness through praise and celebration. He is worthy of our thanksgiving and praise.
During corporate worship, start with thanksgiving. You do not always have to follow the lyrics on the screen. Start worshiping by thanking Him for all He has done for you the previous week. You don’t need to be loud or distracting. Just close your eyes and focus on Jesus, and thank Him for His love and goodness.
