Believe The Lord
“Then the word of the Lord came to him: “This man will not be your heir, but a son who is your own flesh and blood will be your heir.”
He took him outside and said, “Look up at the sky and count the stars, if indeed you can count them.” Then he said to him, “So shall your offspring be.”
Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness.” Genesis 15:4-6
There are 3 essential ingredients needed for a victorious lifestyle as a child of God;
First, we need a word of promise, and the Bible is full of several promises which we can lay hold of.
Therefore, make sure you are taking promises from the Lord as your foundation.
The second thing we need is faith!
Faith in the simplest of terms is full confidence that God can, and will, do what He has said He will do.
Thirdly, speak what you believe. God changed Abram’s name to Abraham. Every time he speaks, he confessed the promise.
In the verse above, Abraham had all three. He received the promise of the Lord. He believed in God. He confessed his belief.
Faith reflects our attitude towards God’s character.
Some people make empty promises to us and we have learnt never to pay attention or act on their empty words. But not so for God and His promises.
If we choose not to take God’s word to heart, we are simply expressing to Him that we doubt His being and power.
The question now is this – what promise are you running with? And how well do you really trust and believe in God?
Now is therefore the time to declare the promise of God relentlessly.
You will have what you believe.
You will have what you say!
