Bold Faith
“Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace.” Luke 8:48
For twelve long years, the woman with the issue of blood suffered. Physically drained, socially isolated, and financially exhausted from seeking cures that never came, she still held on to one hope: Jesus.
What makes her faith so remarkable wasn’t just her belief that Jesus could heal her, it was her persistence to act on that belief in the face of humiliation, cultural stigma, and personal exhaustion.
According to the law, her condition made her ceremonially unclean. She shouldn’t have been in the crowd, let alone touching a rabbi. But her desperation gave birth to bold faith, a faith that reached out for the hem of His garment.
She didn’t demand attention. She didn’t seek a spotlight. She believed quietly but acted courageously. And when she touched Him, power flowed.
Jesus noticed. He stopped. He called her “Daughter”, restoring not just her health, but her dignity, identity, and peace.
There are times when we feel unseen, unworthy, or weighed down by shame and disappointment. But like this woman, when we come to Jesus in faith, no matter how messy or broken, we meet compassion, not condemnation. Bold faith doesn’t have to be loud, but it must be real.
Lord, give me the kind of faith that reaches through fear, silence, and shame to touch You. Let me trust You deeply, even when others can’t see the battle I’m fighting. Heal me, restore me, and call me yours. Amen.
