Can You See?
“When he saw he was healed, he came back, praising God…” Luke 17:15.
Gratitude is about spiritual sight. Ten lepers were healed that day, but only one truly saw what had happened. The others noticed the physical change. But the one who returned recognized the source of the change, and that made all the difference.
Sometimes, we are so eager to move on to the next thing, the next breakthrough, the next level, the next door, that we forget to pause and acknowledge the One who made it all possible. We don’t always return… not because we are ungrateful at heart, but because we haven’t slowed down enough to truly see.
Gratitude is not just what you do when things go well, it’s what you become when you realize who God is in your story. It turns your healing into wholeness. It takes your answered prayer and turns it into worship. It transforms a moment of relief into a life of reverence.
The nine went on with their lives. But the one who came back stepped into something deeper, not just a miracle, but relationship. Not just a gift, but the Giver.
So ask yourself: Have I truly seen what God has done for me? Or have I just kept walking?
Jesus, open my eyes. Let me not rush past the grace You’ve poured out. Make me the one who sees, the one who returns, the one who remembers. I choose gratitude, not just in words, but with my life. Amen.
