Delight in Him
“Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” Psalm 37:4.
To love God is more than a command, It’s an invitation into the deepest joy a soul can know.
And to delight in Him is where love becomes worship.
Loving God is not just about duty; it’s about desire, a desire that grows as we know Him more. He is not distant or demanding. He is kind, faithful, full of mercy, and stunning in holiness. The more we see His beauty, the more our hearts are drawn , not by pressure, but by awe.
To delight in God, is to make Him your joy. It’s choosing Him as your first thought in the morning, your anchor in the storm, and your song in the night. It’s when you’d rather have His presence than anything else. It’s not about perfection, but about affection, sincere, growing, daily affection for the One who loved us first.
And here’s the miracle: when we delight in Him, He shapes our desires to reflect His. Our hearts begin to long for what He loves, and He lovingly fulfills those longings.
To love God is life’s greatest command, and to delight in Him is life’s greatest joy.
Lord, teach me to love You more. Let my joy not be found in things that fade, but in Your unchanging heart. Draw me into deeper delight in who You are, my Savior, my King, and the Lover of my soul. Amen.
