Don’t Stop Praying
“Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.” Luke 18:1.
Life is full of reasons to quit. Disappointments stack up. Prayers feel unanswered. Doors remain shut. And sometimes, even faith feels like it’s hanging by a thread.
Jesus knew we would face moments like these, and that’s why He said men ought always to pray and not to give up.
He said this to remind us that prayer is how we hold on when life tries to pull us apart.
In the parable in Luke 18:2–8, the widow persistently pleads for justice from an unrighteous judge. She keeps coming, not because the judge is good, but because she refuses to be ignored. Jesus contrasts that with God, who is just and loving. If persistence works even with unjust men, how much more will it move the heart of a good and faithful God?
Why we should keep praying:-
Because God hears even when He seems silent.
Because prayer changes you, even before it changes your circumstances.
Because faith grows in persistence, not in passivity.
When you pray, heaven listens, even when earth hasn’t moved yet.
Keep praying, even-
When the answer is delayed.
When the weight is heavy.
When your heart is tired.
When your hope is dim.
Lord, teach me to pray without giving up. When I’m weary, be my strength. When I’m discouraged, renew my hope. Amen.
