El Perisseuō: The God Who Overflows!
“And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” 2 Corinthians 9:8.
God is not just enough, He is more than enough. He is El Shaddai, the All-Sufficient One. I call Him “El Perisseuō”: the God who abounds, overflows, and exceeds.
In the wilderness, the Israelites gathered just enough manna, yet none lacked. When Jesus broke five loaves and two fish, twelve baskets overflowed, on another occasion, seven baskets overflowed. At Cana, when the wine ran out, He turned water into better wine, and in abundance. In Elisha’s day, twenty loaves fed a hundred prophets with some left over. 2 Kings 4:42–44.
These are not just stories of provision. They are revelations of God’s nature. He doesn’t do scarcity; He does overflow. He makes your cup to run over!
He supplies not just to meet your need, but to show that your need is never bigger than His grace. This is not about feeding greed, but about experiencing His sufficiency in body, soul, and spirit.
So what if your bank balance is low?
What if your strength is failing?
What if the doors look shut?
Nevertheless, you have God. And with God, you always have more than enough.
Lord, You are more than enough. You are my sufficiency. In You, I lack nothing. Hallelujah.
