Even Now, God Is Near
Heartbreak has a way of slowing everything down. The days feel heavier, the nights quieter, and even the smallest tasks take more effort than they should. Whether it’s from loss, disappointment, betrayal, or grief, when your heart is broken, it can feel like the pieces will never quite come back together.
But right there, in that quiet ache, the Bible reminds us that:
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.” Psalm 34:18.
God doesn’t shy away from our pain. He doesn’t wait for us to fix ourselves before showing up. He steps into the hardest, rawest parts of our lives and stays there with us. His nearness isn’t just comforting, it is strengthening.
When the world grows distant, God leans in. When we feel empty, He carries what we can’t.
Being brokenhearted isn’t a flaw. It’s not a weakness. It’s a real, honest place, and God meets us in real, honest places.
Sometimes we think we have to be whole to be worthy of His presence. But often, it’s in the breaking that we truly encounter His love.
So if you’re feeling worn down, if your heart is heavy, know this:
You are not alone. God is near. And in His nearness, there is hope.
Lord, thank You for being close when everything feels far away. In the moments I feel most broken, remind me that You haven’t left. Be my place of refuge. Be my peace. Restore my heart, and teach me to hope again. Amen.
