Faithful Father
“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.” Hebrews 10:23
The Bible encourages us to continue to hold fast to the Lord and His promises. In Hebrews 3:6, the Bible says, “But Christ is faithful as the Son over God’s house. And we are his house, if indeed we hold firmly to our confidence and the hope in which we glory.”
We are called to have confidence and hope in God’s Word and His character. He is faithful to perform that which He promises.
Hebrews 3:14 further states, “We have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original conviction firmly to the very end.” We must hold firm to Jesus! Remember, when we gave our life to Him, we died, and we were born again. The life that we live is no longer ours. He is our first love. This is why in Revelation 2:4, Jesus says, “Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first.”
There are two powerful truths that can be seen here:
1.God is so faithful to us, so we ought to be faithful to Him.
2. The fact that He is faithful should be an encouragement to us.
We are never alone on our Christian journey We are called to follow the faithful one who never lies. The tension we often find comes when temptations come to pull us away from our Lord.
The Bible in 1 Corinthians 10:13, says, “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.” Whether we find ourselves in a season of ease or in a season of temptation, God is faithful to see us through it!
So keep holding on unswervingly to hope in God for He is Faithful.
Thank You, God that You are always faithful. Thank you for we do not hope in vain. We can fully trust in Your ways and never be put to shame. When You speak, it will happen! Help us to trust that Your ways are better and that Your thoughts are higher. We long to be a faithful people, holding fast until the end. We trust that You will accomplish all that You have spoken over us, in Jesus’ Name, amen.
