For His Glory
“And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.” John 17:5
These words reveal the deep relationship between Jesus and the Father.
Jesus was not just a human being, but He existed before the world began, sharing glory with the Father. As we read in John 1:1, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
Jesus knew that His time on earth was coming to an end, and He looked forward to returning to the glory He had with the Father. But He also knew that His glorification would not be for His own sake alone. Through His glorification, Jesus would bring glory to the Father and reveal His true nature to the world.
As we reflect on this prayer of Jesus, let us remember that we too, are called to glorify God in all that we do. Just as Jesus sought to reveal the Father’s glory, so should we seek to do the same.
May we strive to live our lives in a way that brings glory to God, and may we always look forward to the day when we will be united with Jesus in the glory of the Father.
We should look forward to the future glory, that one day, we will share in the glory of Christ. This reality should motivate us to persevere in our faith and look forward to the day when we will be with Jesus in glory.
As we face the struggles of this life, we can take comfort in the fact that the glory that awaits us is far greater than anything we can imagine.
