Friendship With Jesus
“I no longer call you servants… Instead, I have called you friends…” – John 15:15.
What a staggering truth: Jesus, the Son of God, calls us friends. Not just followers. Not only disciples. But friends, invited into intimacy, not mere instruction.
This isn’t a shallow, casual friendship. Jesus defines it by sacrifice: “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends” John 15:13. And he proved His friendship with the cross.
He therefore, invites us to prove ours through trust, obedience, and time spent in His presence.
Friendship with Jesus means:
Access: You can speak with Him anytime. He listens and responds.
Intimacy: He shares His heart. He wants you to know His will.
Loyalty: Through joy and sorrow, He stays. A friend who sticks closer than a brother. Proverbs 18:24.
Transformation: The more you walk with Him, the more like Him you become.
Friendship with Jesus doesn’t cancel reverence; it deepens it.
The King of Glory bends low to walk beside you. He knows your name, your fears, your questions, and still calls you “friend.”
Lord Jesus, thank You for the privilege of being called Your friend. Help me not to take it lightly. Draw me into deeper intimacy with You. Teach me to walk with You daily, talk with You honestly, and obey You fully. Let our friendship grow, and may my life reflect the closeness I have with You. Amen.
