God’s Purpose Prevails
“I know that You can do all things; no purpose of Yours can be thwarted.” Job 42:2
Moses’ life reminds us that God’s purpose is never rushed, never random, and never wasted.
Even from before Moses was born, God had a plan, a deliverer was needed, and Moses was chosen to be born. His purpose didn’t begin at the burning bush. It started long before, and the shoot was seen in his conception and then his birth, in obscurity: in the basket on the Nile, in Pharaoh’s palace, and in the wilderness tending sheep.
Moses tried to fulfill God’s call in his own strength when he killed the Egyptian (Exodus 2:11-15). But God’s timing was different. Moses fled to the wilderness, not as punishment, but as preparation.
For 40 years, he lived in Midian. Forgotten by men, but formed by God.
Then came the bush that burned but wasn’t consumed. God reminded Moses: I have seen, I have heard, and I am sending you (Exodus 3:7-10). Moses didn’t feel ready, but God was ready. And He promised, “I will be with you.”
The key truth here is that God’s purpose is not erased by failure, it is refined by surrender.
And then, delay is not denial. God was building Moses before sending Moses, so remember, you are never too broken or too late for God’s plan.
Moses would go on to lead a nation, part seas, and speak with God face-to-face. But it all began with a surrendered ‘yes’ in the wilderness.
Lord, thank You that Your purpose for me is sure, even when I feel unsure. Like Moses, help me to trust You in the waiting, obey You when You call, and walk in the assignment You’ve placed on my life. Amen.
