He Is Knocking
“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.” Revelation 3:20
In Revelation, the book starts with a glimpse of Jesus, the throne room, and Jesus’ letters to different churches. As we read Jesus’ letters to the church, we can see if we relate to any of the churches and how we can repent and go after Him.
In Revelation 3, one of the churches Jesus addresses is the church of Laodicea.
The church of Laodicea was moving in their own strength and relying on their giftings. They did not depend on the Lord; they thought they had no need. They may have been doing all the right things, but it did not matter because they did it without Him. “You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.” Revelation 3:17.
Without Jesus, nothing matters.
Jesus loved the church of Laodicea, and He loves us. He knocks on the doors of the hearts of the ones He loves to draw them back.
He is knocking on the door of your heart today. Will you open up and let Him in?
