I Put My Trust In You
“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise— in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” Psalm 56:3-4
Fear and darkness are all around us. Whenever we feel fearful, we can turn to God and put our trust in Him.
We may be unable to change our circumstances, but He can shift our perspective in a moment. The things we used to fear will no longer affect us.
Fear often comes when we are more focused on what we see right before us instead of the bigger picture. We become afraid when we don’t see what God sees.
God knows all, sees all, and is everywhere at once. We can trust Him because He knows what we are going through. He sees where we are and knows how to lead us to an abundant life. When we are afraid, we must intentionally turn our hearts toward God, choose to trust Him, and praise Him while we wait. When we put our trust in Him, fear will lose its hold on us.
As followers of Jesus, we know that He defeated death. So even death, the greatest fear most have, He has already overcome. When that day comes, we will be standing face to face with the Lord of heaven and earth. We will be in His glorious presence. No man can take that from us.
