It Will Sprout Again
“For there is hope for a tree, if it is cut down, that it will sprout again, and that its tender shoots will not cease.” Job 14:7
Once lush and flourishing, the tree was cut down and burnt. All that remains is a dry stump, now nothing more than a resting place for chickens. Forgotten is the shade it once gave, the juicy fruit it once bore. It is now a pale echo of its former self, a stark, sad reality.
Nevertheless, the Almighty says: “There is hope.”
Job, amid deep and unimaginable suffering, still declared this truth: Even a cut-down tree can sprout again!
It may look like the end, but it’s not the end in God’s eyes. What appears dead can still hold hidden life. Beneath the surface, the roots still draw from the waters of God’s faithfulness.
That dry season is temporary.
That “no” or “not yet” is not final.
That detour or delay is not a denial.
God specializes in resurrection, not just of people, but of purpose, promise, and potential!
He makes deserts bloom and dry bones live again. What’s lost can be restored. What’s barren can bear fruit. What’s forgotten can be revived. The tree may have been cut down, but its roots are still in God.
Don’t judge your story by what you see today. Roots run deep, and God is working in the unseen. Hold on, your new shoot is coming.
Lord, thank You for being the God of hope. Even when life feels cut down, You promise new growth. Help me to trust Your timing and believe in restoration. By Your Spirit, I will sprout again. Amen.
