It’s All About Him
“For in him we live and move and have our being.” Acts 17:28
We often evaluate life through the lens of comfort, success, or personal fulfillment. But God views life through a higher, eternal perspective, His purpose.
There are seasons we walk through that are painful, confusing, and even crushing. In those moments, we may wonder, “Why is this happening to me?” But the better question is: “What is God shaping in me?”
The truth is, anything that draws you nearer to God, no matter how uncomfortable, is ultimately good. Even suffering can be sacred when it strips away our pride, distractions, and illusions of control, pushing us to lean wholly on Him. Like the Psalmist said, *“It was good for me to be afflicted so that I might learn your decrees”* Psalm 119:71.
You were not created for yourself.
You were made for Him.
All things, (even your tears, even your trials, work together not just for your good,) but for His pleasure Revelation 4:11.
When you realize life is about Him, not you, you stop resenting the struggle and start seeking His presence in it. The wilderness becomes holy ground. The trial becomes a meeting place.
Lord, help me not to waste my pain or resist my trials. May everything I walk through draw me closer to You. Remind me that I was created for Your glory, not my comfort. In You alone I live, move, and have my being. Amen.
If it brings you to your knees in surrender and into deeper communion with God, it’s not a loss—it’s a gift in disguise.
