Jesus Joy
“with joy, you will draw water from the wells of salvation.” Isaiah 12:3
Joy is a principal constituent of the kingdom, that is why Romans 14:17 says, for the kingdom of God is righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
Joy is that feeling of good pleasure and happiness that is dependent on who Jesus is rather than on who we are or what is happening around us.
One of the very first assurances and evidence we have when we become born-again in Christ is JOY. It is such a tangible measure of inner joy and peace, words cannot explain it. You are just joyful no matter how your day goes.
Joy is also sustained through intentionality; as you deliberately keep yourself in an atmosphere of praise, worship, prayer or bible study, a fountain of joy gushes from within.
Intimate fellowship with the Father releases Joy and the devil knows how important joy is in the life of a believer and is always seeking to steal our joy.
We get easily frustrated and joy-less when we get too busy for intimacy with God. When the allure of earthly desires, ambitions and acquisitions draw us out of our place of strength of a kingdom-conditioned life.
But remember, be anxious for nothing and do not worry. Our God Almighty is able to do much more than we can ever think or imagine.
“Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.” Psalm 51:12
