Jesus, The One And Only
“And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.” – Ephesians 1:22-23
If there ever was anyone who fits that description of ‘The One And Only, It is Jesus Christ. His birth was contrary to the laws of life. His death was contrary to the laws of death for He defeated death by His resurrection. He had no plantation, fish pond or bakery yet He spreads a table for five thousand and had bread and fish to spare. He walked on no beautiful red carpets or velvet rugs, but He walked on the waters of the Sea of Galilee and they supported Him.
Three years He preached His Gospel. He wrote no book, built no church house, had no monetary backing. But after two thousand years, He is the one central character of human history, the Pivot around which the events of the ages revolve, and the only Regenerator of the human race.
He is not just the Son of Joseph and Mary, not just a great prophet or teacher, not just a miracle worker. His blood was shed at Calvary’s hill for our redemption. Every thinking man and woman cannot but worship him and declare: ‘My Lord and My God!’”
If ever man was God or God man, Jesus Christ was both. Jesus stands alone; no one is like Him. He is Lord of all.
“And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him” – Colossians 1:18-19
