More Of Jesus
“He must increase, but I must decrease.” John 3:30
This verse is how our walk with God should look like. John, the Baptist acknowledged this and began to willingly decline in relevance while the Profile of Jesus began to grow in the land.
Every day the world should see less of us and more of Jesus. But what does this mean exactly?
It means that each day the world sees us, they ought to see more of God’s love and less of the anger and malice that we are known for. More of the generosity of Heaven and less of the stinginess and selfishness that may have characterized us. More forgiveness and less hatred, etc.
Our daily growth in God’s love and daily filling of His Holy Spirit will begin to yield visible fruit that has the effect of drawing others closer to God as they feel the warmth of true joy, care and love radiating through us.
Too many people are hurting and lost, seeking a better way. We cannot help them when our focus is on ourselves. It is time to drink more of Heaven’s Sweet Spirit till He increases so much so that the old person in us totally disappears.
We are more than mere colleagues in the workplace. We are wells of healing to those around us, but if we are empty of His grace, no one will drink and be healed.
Let us ask for the grace to yield through His word and prayer and Let Him increase till He fills us completely.
Like a grain of wheat that falls to the earth,
And dies to live anew;
All my plans and earthly desires,
I lay them down to follow You….
More of You, and less of me;
Lord, I pray that there might be
More of You and less of me. -Don Moen
