Packaged With Thanksgiving
“In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18
If you are not thankful for what you already have, you are not likely to be thankful for what you will get!
We should never get so hungry for more, for increase, growth, prosperity, healing and all the goodness of life that we become ungrateful.
The Bible instructs us to package all petitions, supplications, requests and prayers with Thanksgiving!
That means the prescribed and acceptable way to pray is to do so thankfully in full assurance that our Father is listening.
All God requires from you is a heart of worship and thanksgiving.
Your praise to God precedes and heralds your breakthrough!
If you can’t praise God while in prison, maybe you will also be too ‘dignified’ to dance when you are free.
The Israelites walked around with their horns and trumpets for seven days, and then the great wall of Jericho came crashing down at their praise chant on the seventh day. Joshua 6.
Jesus gave thanks over the five loaves and two fish before the multiplication happened. Luke 9:16, Matthew 14:19.
Be thankful for what you have, and you will have more. If you concentrate on what you do not have, you will never have enough.
God has done all that needs to be done. Jesus said, ‘It is finished’. What remains is the process of appropriating the inheritance. God is surely bringing you into the broad place of overflow and full restoration. Amen.
But don’t wait until you have that testimony before letting the thanks flow. True gratitude comes from trust, not performance.
Sing a new song, dance unto the Lord. Offer him the fruit of your lips. Tell of His many kindnesses.
What a great, gracious and mighty God we serve.
