Praise Him Because You Trust Him
“About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.” Acts 16:25
I can only imagine how Paul and Silas felt, being beaten and disgraced publicly for following God’s instruction, and as if that was not enough, they get thrown into prison with criminals without trial just because they set a possessed slave girl free from demonic oppression.
Despite all these, they didn’t complain or get all moody, rather they prayed and raised their voice in praise. It was not even in a hushed tone but in a loud and bold session.
Naturally, we would expect praise to come after a breakthrough. But in the Kingdom, Praise precedes the breakthrough.
Jesus gave thanks before he raised Lazarus from the dead in John 14:2, HE gave thanks over the five loaves and two fish before the multiplication happened in Luke 9:16 and Matthew 14:19.
Don’t wait till you have that testimony before Praising God. True Praise comes from trust, not performance.
“Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.” Psalm 100:4
