Promise Keeper
“Not one of all the LORD’s good promises to the house of Israel failed; every one was fulfilled.” – Joshua 21:45
The message of promise is the beginning and end of everything that is included in the Bible, it is woven throughout and it undergirds every word, sometimes openly, sometimes subtly, but it is always there. God’s promises are the common thread that unites the Old and New Testaments. It is the core that makes the sixty-six books into one whole book – The Bible.
The takeaway from this is the fact that the Lord can be counted on to keep all of his promises. His words will never fail. The word of God is replete with instances of God honouring his word and this is to help our faith and make more solid our confidence in Him.
The best of men, even those with the noblest intentions may not always keep their word, sometimes circumstances will not even allow them, but our God is sovereign, He answers to no one and he causes all things to work together for our good.
Don’t give up on God. Turn to his word again, take him at his words again. He is the Promise Keeper!
The Lord is faithful in all that He promises; His promises stand throughout eternity. We can always depend upon His promises and He is ever true to His Word.
“God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfil?” – Numbers 23:19
