Restored
“When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dreamed. Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy.” Psalm 126:1-2
There are moments in life when restoration seems impossible, when the weight of delay, disappointment, or devastation feels like a permanent state. But Psalm 126 reminds us that God’s restoration arrives not just as an answer to prayer, but as a miracle that surpasses expectation.
The psalmist describes God’s restoration as dreamlike, so astonishing, it feels unreal.
This is not partial repair. It is full-circle joy. Mouths once silent with sorrow now burst into laughter. Hearts once heavy with longing are filled with singing.
What made the difference? The Lord did. Restoration is not a result of perfect planning or human striving. It is the overflow of divine grace and timing.
God restores not only what was lost but also what was hoped for, even when hope had run out.
Are you in a season that feels barren or forgotten? Trust this: the same God who restored Zion still restores today.
He can make you laugh again. He can turn your mourning into melody.
God’s restoration is never just a return to what was, it’s a revival of what could be.
Lord, restore me in Your time and Your way. Turn my dry seasons into songs of joy. Let my story be a testimony of Your faithfulness. Amen.
