Return With Gratitude
One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice.” Luke 17:15.
Ten men stood at a distance, marked by leprosy, desperate for mercy. And Jesus, full of compassion, healed all ten. Yet only one returned. Not quietly, but with a loud voice of praise falling at Jesus’ feet in worship.
He receive a miracle and he responded to it. He didn’t take grace and move on. He turned around.
Gratitude is recognizing the hand of God and refusing to keep walking as if it were ordinary. The nine got healing, but the one who returned received something deeper: relationship, wholeness, and affirmation from the mouth of Jesus Himself.
Jesus’ question, “Where are the other nine?” wasn’t anger, it was disappointment, for, Heaven notices who comes back. Miracles may be released to the many, but worship comes from the few.
Gratitude keeps us close. It reminds us that we are not just recipients of blessings, but children of a Father whose kindness deserves our return.
You too, be the one who comes back.
Jesus, with my whole heart, I thank You for what You’ve done and what I can’t yet see. I don’t want to just walk away blessed, I want to walk with You, in praise and gratitude. Amen.
